A Progressive Phased Approach
We believe that recovery involves more than just stopping abusing dangerous substances; it’s about rebuilding connections with oneself, the community, and spirituality. Our unique phased approach to long-term addiction recovery emphasizes individual growth, therapeutic support, and community building, equipping residents with the necessary tools for sustainable sobriety and a meaningful life.
A Progressive Phased Approach
Phase 1: Building a Foundation for Recovery
Recovery begins with reconnecting to oneself, spirituality, and community. Phase 1 emphasizes addressing the emotions, events, and behaviors at the root of addiction. Residents receive guidance through this process with intensive therapeutic support, structured program regimen, and immersion in the 12 Steps.
What to Expect in Phase 1
- Daily Practices: Morning spirituality and meditation exercises to foster mindfulness.
- Group Therapy: Twice-daily sessions covering topics like 12 Step Immersion, anger management, life skills, and motivation.
- Individual Therapy: Weekly one-on-one sessions using evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, and trauma processing, with optional EMDR.
- Psychiatric Support: Residents receive an initial psychiatric evaluation to determine ongoing needs.
- Rebuilding Independence: Residents participate in weekly shopping trips, learning to plan, organize, and budget for their personal needs.
- Recreation & Joy: Activities like nature outings, movie nights, and volunteering are integrated to help residents rediscover a sense of passion and purpose.
Phase 2: Establishing a Life in Sobriety
In Phase 2, residents start applying the skills and insights acquired in Phase 1 to real-world scenarios. This stage focuses on personal and professional growth, equipping residents for a balanced, independent life in recovery.
What to Expect in Phase 2
- Therapeutic Support: Continuation of 12 Step Immersion, biweekly therapy sessions, and group therapy as needed.
- Community Involvement: A minimum of five 12-step gatherings per week, as well as volunteering or engaging with the local community.
- Education & Career Development: Residents can pursue a college or high school degree, with staff support to balance academic and recovery responsibilities. Those prepared for employment receive workplace readiness training, which includes resume writing and interview preparation.
- Renewed Freedoms: Residents gain access to personal vehicles (with proper licensing and insurance) and enjoy increased independence for work, school, or other obligations.
Life Beyond A Reprieve

A Comprehensive Approach to Recovery
We believe that physical, emotional, and spiritual health are integral to lasting recovery.
A Healthy Mind and Body
Residents attend a local gym three times a week, creating fitness routines that match their abilities and recovery goals. Chef-prepared meals during the week and resident-cooked meals on weekends promote nutrition and self-sufficiency.
Spiritual Growth
Recovery is deeply tied to spirituality, which provides a guiding force throughout the journey. Residents are encouraged to explore or reconnect with their spiritual center, regardless of religious beliefs.
Recreational Activities
Rediscovering joy is key to long-term sobriety. Residents participate in activities like pool parties, hiking, and creative outlets to rekindle their sense of passion and purpose.

Family Involvement & Support
Addiction impacts not just the individual but also their loved ones. We engage families in the recovery process to promote healing and understanding for everyone.
Family Communication & Visits
- Weekly or biweekly update calls with family members keep them informed of their loved one’s progress.
- Sunday visitation hours allow families to connect with residents in person.
Family Program
Every three months, we host a two-day Family Program that provides:
- Education on addiction and the recovery process.
- Tools for managing unhealthy family behaviors.
- Time to reconnect with loved ones and celebrate progress.
